The Reopen Rwanda Project

The Project

Over the last two months, the Rwandan government has shut down almost half of our Assemblies of God churches, requiring they meet specific standards before being allowed to reopen and once again worship together. Some regulations require churches to purchase items that add up to over $10,000 USD, which is a large amount of money for a country where the average monthly income for a family is $140 USD. There is an urgency to this project, as these churches will not be allowed to meet until all government-mandated regulations are met.

Through the Reopen Rwanda Project, we have the opportunity to help local churches purchase government-mandated building upgrades, allowing them to once again worship together. Your partnership doesn’t just repair a church building; it gives communities access to a healthy local church.

How you can help re-open a church.

Our goal is to help reopen every Rwandan Assemblies of God Church that has been closed. The Rwandan AG is committed to doing as much as they can, such as soundproofing buildings and paving parking lots. Here’s what we are committed to helping provide and what you can purchase to help a local church once again meet together for worship.

Fire Extinguishers   $120

Lightning Rods   $420

Water Catchment Systems   $1,800
